Privacy policy
1. Basic Policy on Handling Personal Data
For our customers to use our services with peace of mind and trust, we recognize the importance of Personal Data, and we will handle Personal Data appropriately in compliance with laws and regulations, this Privacy Policy, and our internal rules.
2. Definition of Personal Data
Personal Data means “Personal information” and “Anonymized processed information” as defined in the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, identifier information and location information such as customer numbers, cookie information, IP addresses and device identification IDs, and a wide range of information that cannot be used to identify individuals but can be used to relate to individuals, such as browsing history, purchase history, and other information related to the customer's activities.
3. Handling of Personal Data
We will properly handle Personal Data, fairly and impartially, in acquisition, storage, operation, or disposal.
4. Purpose of Use of Personal Data
(1) The purpose for which we acquire and use Personal Data will be notified to the identifiable person or published on our website “Matters to be disclosed under the Act on the Protection of Personal Information.”
(2) We will use Personal Data within the scope necessary for achieving the purpose of use notified or announced in advance; provided, however, that in the event we use Personal Data beyond the scope necessary for achieving the purpose of use, we will use Personal Data based on the laws and regulations or take necessary measures such as obtaining the consent of the identifiable person.
5. Internal System
We will establish a department that oversees the management of Personal Data as well as promotes protection activities of Personal Data and appoint a person responsible for the management of Personal Data. In addition, by appointing a person in charge in each department, we will establish a Personal Data management system that covers the entire company.
6. Personal Data Management Method
To maintain the accuracy of Personal Data and to manage it safely, we will take various security measures to prevent unauthorized access to, misuse, misappropriation, loss, destruction, alteration, or leaks of Personal Data.
7. Joint Use of Personal Data
We may, within the scope necessary for achieving the purpose of use defined in section four (4) above, jointly use customer names, addresses, telephone numbers, and other contact information, as well as the categories of usage history information related to our services used by customers, among our group companies. Osaka Metro Co., Ltd. shall be responsible for the management of such information.
8. Supervision of an Entrusted Person
When we entrust another person with the handling of Personal Data, we will enter into a contract with the entrusted person regarding safety management of Personal Data and will supervise the person to ensure that it manages Personal Data adequately.
9. Provision of Personal Data to Third Parties
We will not, except for permitted by laws and regulations, provide personal data to a third party without obtaining the identifiable person's consent in advance. In addition, we will, before providing Personal Data excluding personal information to a third party, disclose the categories of information relating to an individual contained in the Personal Data and the means of providing this. We will, before providing such Personal Data, that falls under anonymized personal information, state to the third party explicitly that the information it will provide is anonymized personal information.
10. Procedure for Disclosure and Correction of Personal Data the business holds
When having received a request, we will disclose Personal Data the business holds to an identifiable person without delay. If the content of personal information that we hold is incorrect, the person may, in accordance with the procedure we make, request that we make a correction, addition, or deletion of the Personal Data we hold.
11. Contact for Requests for Disclosure and Correction, and for Consultations and Complaints
We establish a contact point to receive requests regarding personal information and complaints regarding the handling of the information and establish the necessary procedures such as the procedure for requesting disclosure, correction, deletion, suspension of use.
12. Respect for the Customer's Wish
To respect our customers’ wishes, we will endeavor to provide opportunities to select or cease use of our services that use Personal Data.
13. Ensuring Transparency
We will ensure transparency by explaining the acquisition, use, and management of Personal Data in plain language.
14. Continuous Improvement
To provide and operate our services properly, we will continuously review and improve our Personal Data management system and internal rules. In addition, we will provide our employees with the necessary education and training to ensure the safe operation of Personal Data.
